By Sony Interactive Entertainment,
August is shaping up to be another thrilling month for PlayStation Plus subscribers, with a stacked lineup of diverse titles dropping into the monthly games collection. From dark fantasy action to post-apocalyptic survival and anime-fueled arena brawls, there’s something for just about every type of gamer. And as always, these games are available to all PlayStation Plus members starting August 5, 2025.
Let’s dive into what’s coming to your console this month—and remember, Even if you don’t play games but have even a passing interest in them, make sure to redeem this scheme when it goes live. Once added to your library, they’re yours to keep for as long as your PlayStation Plus membership is active.
Lies of P (PS5 & PS4)
First up is Lies of P, a gothic action-RPG that takes inspiration from Soulsborne-style combat and adds a uniquely twisted narrative. Think of Pinocchio—but not as a harmless puppet. Here, he’s a deadly force navigating a city run amok with deranged automatons.
You play as “P,” a wooden warrior searching for Mr. Geppetto in the city of Krat, a place as hauntingly beautiful as it is deadly. The game offers intense, punishing combat where you’ll face off against maniacal puppets using a combination of melee attacks, prosthetic upgrades, and a build-your-own-weapon system. Imagine crafting a weapon like a bizarre mechanical cocktail from parts of everything you’ve scavenged—yes, it’s that wild.
Expect a dark fairytale atmosphere, rich lore, and just enough madness to keep you pressing forward. Lies of P will be available for both PS4 and PS5.

DayZ (PS4)
For those who prefer their survival stories a bit more grounded (and blood-soaked), DayZ makes its debut on PlayStation Plus this month. If you’ve never played it, brace yourself—it’s more than just a zombie game.
Set in the fictional post-Soviet republic of Chernarus, DayZ drops you into the world with little more than a bandage, a glow stick, and a piece of fruit. That’s it. Your mission? Survive. You’ll scavenge for gear, food, weapons, and medicine while trying to avoid the undead—and possibly worse—other players.
The tension in DayZ is unlike any other game. One moment you’re sharing supplies with a stranger, and the next, they’re holding you at gunpoint in the middle of nowhere. With proximity chat, unscripted encounters, and full-on survival mechanics, this game offers unpredictable, high-stakes drama every time you log in.
DayZ will be available for PS4 players (and playable on PS5 via backward compatibility).
My Hero One’s Justice 2 (PS4)
Rounding out August’s lineup is My Hero One’s Justice 2, the fast-paced anime fighter based on the massively popular My Hero Academia series. Whether you’re a longtime fan of the manga or anime—or just looking for a flashy fighter—this one’s worth checking out. You’ll take control of over 40 characters from the series, from iconic heroes like Deku and All Might to menacing villains like Overhaul and Shigaraki. This 3D arena fighter emphasizes explosive team-based battles, with support characters and powerful “quirks” that let you pull off spectacular combos and cinematic finishers.
It’s likely that newcomers will jump right in, and bonus points for those who are already immersed. Bonus points if you’re caught up on the anime—it makes each showdown that much more epic.
My Hero One’s Justice 2 is available for PS4 and also works great on PS5.
Don’t Forget!
Just a quick reminder: all of these games go live on August 5, 2025. Once they’re available, you’ve got the entire month to redeem them. Just add them to your library—even if you don’t plan to play them immediately. They’ll be yours for as long as you stay a PlayStation Plus member.
And remember: PS4 games are fully playable on PS5 via backward compatibility, so no one’s missing out.
